English Exams and Bonus Photos

Friday was another 1st unit test day, but today it was the English test and therefore Alex and I could be useful in helping the children with their preparations before the test. When it was time for the test to start, I was initially helping/observing in the class with a teacher called Vinod, however when the test papers arrived with headteacher Balaji, he explained that he couldn't find the test papers for class 1. The teachers themselves write the unit tests, which they save onto the computer in the office, and Balaji could not find the class 1 test to print it out. I therefore offered to take class 1 outside and continue some work with them. It's amazing how eagerly such young children got stuck back into revision!!

As the other children finished their tests they started to arrive outside too and to join us. Soon there was a slightly rowdy group of children all burning off some excess energy. I thought that they probably deserved a break, so I let them play around and just tried to keep them a bit quiet so that they didn't disturb other children - or get in trouble with the teachers. After a bit of a break for fun, the children settled down again to begin revision for tomorrow's test: maths. During their little break however, Rahul, a boy from my class last week, asked if he could use my camera. I allowed him to, on the condition that only children from class 5 used it because Alex had shown them how to when he had come into my arts and crafts lesson. A couple of the children from class used my camera, and the results were some pretty cute pictures of the children from their own perspective! These are a few of my favourites :)
